The features are extensive containing diverse technical details – we like to be meticulous – therefore indicated for our readers avid for technical information. For those who enjoy aviation photography, our chronicles are amply illustrated however, frequently we will exhibit a large selection of images about the aircraft featured; available under our Galleries menu.

We have commenced our tasks in the South American region – with a clear favoritism to Uruguayan aviation – however we plan to expand and spread our wings to many corners of the World. Therefore – please – ensure you come back often to visit our site! I

Who is Airpressman?

Ernesto Blanco Calcagno is an Uruguayan passionate about aviation. A graduate of the Uruguayan Air Force Aeronautical Technical School (Jet Engines) he served on the then Grupo de Aviación No. 2 (CAZA) (Aviation Group No. 2 – Fighters) on engine maintenance of Lockheed T-33A and Cessna A-37B aircraft. Having lived in several countries during his life (Uruguay, Brazil, UK and Argentina) he started flying training at age 17 in Uruguay (Canelones) continued in Brazil (Rio de Janeiro) and finished it in the US (California). He holds a FAA commercial license with a Instrument Rating plus a UK CAA Basic Commercial licence and Assistant Flying Instructor (AFI) qualifications. An Airline cabin crew member since 1984 – for a large UK based international carrier – operating initially on short and long haul services, he spent his working life around the globe whilst searching for opportunities to write features on this amazing industry. Retired in 2020 as a Cabin Service Director to dedicate more time to family and new aviation ventures and book writing.
