class=\"s1\">La\u00a0<strong>Aviaci\u00f3n Naval de la Rep\u00fablica Oriental del Uruguay (ANU)<\/strong>\u00a0de larga trayectoria, se remonta a\u00a0 la creaci\u00f3n del Servicio Aeron\u00e1utico de la Armada el 7 de Febrero de 1925 (el actual nombre data del 27 de Junio de 1952). Se cerraba as\u00ed un largo cap\u00edtulo de esfuerzos de oficiales como el\u00a0<strong>C\/A Atilio Frigerio<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>primer militar aviador del Uruguay<\/strong>\u00a0habiendo obtenido su brevet (n\u00famero 116 de la Aviaci\u00f3n Italiana y 154 de la Federaci\u00f3n Aeron\u00e1utica Internacional) el 7 de Agosto de 1912, en la Escuela de Aviaci\u00f3n Militar de Aviano, Italia. (Copyright Ernesto Blanco Calcagno\/Airpressman.com<\/strong><\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p class=\"p2\">A trav\u00e9s de las d\u00e9cadas aeronaves de ala fija de diversas prestaciones prestaron servicio a las alas navales, como los botes voladores<strong>\u00a0Cant\u00a0<\/strong><b>18 y<\/b>\u00a0<strong>21<\/strong>\u00a0italianos, torpederos\u00a0<strong>TBM Avenger<\/strong>\u00a0al final de los 40, cazas\u00a0<strong>Grumman F6F Hellcat<\/strong>, los\u00a0<strong>SNJ Texan<\/strong>\u00a0y los enormes\u00a0<strong>PBM\u00a0<\/strong><b>Martin Mariner<\/b>\u00a0en los 50, periodo de plenitud de la ANU. Las primeras aeronaves de alas rotativas del pa\u00eds fueron navales, en forma de los\u00a0<strong>Bell 47G<\/strong> de rescate, equipados con pontones para su utilizaci\u00f3n sobre el mar y capacidad para dos camillas, recibidas en 1955 (tres m\u00e1s se obtendr\u00edan en 1988, 1992 y 1995).<\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\">En a\u00f1os posteriores se adicionaron dos\u00a0<strong>Sikorsky SH-34J<\/strong>\u00a0de gran capacidad entregados en\u00a0 1971, as\u00ed como dos<strong>\u00a0Bell OH-13H<\/strong>\u00a0de instrucci\u00f3n y adiestramiento. Al a\u00f1o siguiente se sumar\u00edan cuatro\u00a0<strong>CH-34C<\/strong>, de propulsi\u00f3n a motor rec\u00edproco como los modelos J. Reci\u00e9n a comienzos de los 80 llegar\u00eda la era del motor a reacci\u00f3n con un <strong>Bell 222<\/strong>\u00a0biturbina tra\u00eddo en vuelo desde los EE.UU. En la siguiente d\u00e9cada crecer\u00eda la flota de aeronaves de mayor porte y utilidad, con el arribo de dos\u00a0<strong>Westland Wessex 60<\/strong>\u00a0de fabricaci\u00f3n brit\u00e1nica, obtenidos en 1991 (sustituyendo a los CH-34C) sum\u00e1ndose a ellos cinco\u00a0<strong>Wessex HC Mk II<\/strong>\u00a0en 1997,\u00a0 similares a los W-60, provenientes de stocks de la Base Shawbury de la Real Fuerza A\u00e9rea (RAF)<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"p2\"><span class=\"s1\" style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><b>DESAF\u00cdO<\/b><b>\u00a0DEL NUEVO SIGLO: BINOMIO BUQUE-AERONAVE<\/b><\/span><\/h3>\n<p class=\"p2\"><span class=\"s1\">En el a\u00f1o 2006 la Armada Uruguaya adquiri\u00f3 su primer nav\u00edo con plataforma de vuelo: EL\u00a0<strong>ROU 04 \u201cGeneral Artigas\u201d (ex A1413 \u201cFreiburg\u201d, Clase Luneburg de la Marina Alemana)<\/strong>. Esta plataforma de comando y control, portando una aeronave a bordo en su plataforma de popa, permitir\u00eda a la fuerza expandir el horizonte de observaci\u00f3n, proyectar el poder naval a mayor distancia y velocidad, optimizando las misiones de exploraci\u00f3n, b\u00fasqueda, patrulla y apoyo a los buques. El<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0\u00a0<\/span>esquema camuflado anterior, de excelente calidad, tambi\u00e9n se ha mantenido (por cuestiones pr\u00e1cticas y econ\u00f3micas) con la variaci\u00f3n de que un carenado se ha pintado con <strong>color de alta visibilidad estilo DAY-GLO<\/strong>, para operaciones navales. Este carenado se intercambia e instala a la aeronave a ser \u201cnavalizada\u201d. Lo mismo se hace con los dos\u00a0<strong>sistemas de flotaci\u00f3n\/balsa de emergencia Apical Industries Inc.<\/strong>\u00a0(un segundo se recibi\u00f3 en Marzo 2010 para instalaci\u00f3n en otro BO-105) el cual suministrado en forma de kit \u2013 tres porrones de helio\/aire, flotadores, balsa y conexiones \u2013<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0\u00a0<\/span>se<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0\u00a0<\/span>instalan en los esqu\u00eds.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0\u00a0<\/span>Si la aeronave se encuentra en apuros, la activaci\u00f3n del mismo (incluye balsas para la tripulaci\u00f3n a ambos lados) se efect\u00faa normalmente por medio de una palanca roja en el c\u00edclico del comandante de aeronave (asiento derecho) una mezcla de aire y helio inflando el sistema de flotaci\u00f3n. La naci\u00f3n aguarda un fallo positivo \u2013 luego de la realizaci\u00f3n de sendos, onerosos estudios para detectar el\u00a0<strong>\u201cpie del talud continental\u201d<\/strong>\u00a0con vista a solicitar<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0\u00a0<\/span>por parte de la Organizaci\u00f3n de Naciones Unidas (UN) la extensi\u00f3n de la\u00a0<strong>Zona Econ\u00f3mica Exclusiva (ZEE) de 200 a 350 millas n\u00e1uticas<\/strong>\u00a0desde la costa uruguaya. El mismo dar\u00eda derecho a Uruguay de ejercer jurisdicci\u00f3n sobre una plataforma y subsuelo marinos de hasta 100.000 Km cuadrados. (Copyright Ernesto Blanco Calcagno\/Airpressman.com)\u00a0<\/strong><\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p class=\"p2\"><span class=\"s1\">Si adicionamos, que por acuerdos internacionales, el pa\u00eds tiene asignada como \u00e1rea de responsabilidad SAR un segmento que limita en su extremo este<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0\u00a0<\/span>(la Zona 5 \u2013Atl\u00e1ntico Suroccidental) con el \u00e1rea de responsabilidad de Sud\u00e1frica, veremos que ello representa una superficie de <strong>1.770.000 km2<\/strong>, o sea unas diez veces el tama\u00f1o de Uruguay.\u00a0<strong>Proteger estas dimensiones es un reto imposible de cumplir con los medios de superficie y a\u00e9reos actuales \u2013 incluidos los de la Fuerza A\u00e9rea Uruguaya (FAU) con la cual se comparten responsabilidades.<\/strong>\u00a0Pero es un comienzo contar con los helic\u00f3pteros germanos, que en el futuro podr\u00edan operar a bordo de fragatas alemanas F122 Clase Bremen \u2013 que autoridades del Uruguay han informado de su inter\u00e9s al mando alem\u00e1n, luego de su baja de servicio en el 2016. Tres combinaciones lo hacen el helic\u00f3ptero liviano ideal:\u00a0<strong>bimotor, tama\u00f1o compacto y rotor r\u00edgido<\/strong>. Esta \u00faltima caracter\u00edstica permite que la aeronave sea\u00a0<strong>acrob\u00e1tica, \u00e1gil y altamente maniobrable<\/strong>. Similar a un INS, pero de menor costo, es apto para vuelos sobre tierra, pero no tan as\u00ed sobre el mar, al no obtenerse buen contraste entre diferentes tipos de materiales en la inmensidad y llanura mar\u00edtima. Funciona de forma\u00a0<strong>similar a un VOR\/DME con la ventaja de ser integral y autosuficiente<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 dispensa un faro direccional ajeno a la aeronave \u2013 como los VOR\/TACAN de embarcaciones militares, no obstante ausentes en los buques de la Armada Uruguaya. El\u00a0<strong>A062 efectu\u00f3 un total de 16.4 horas de vuelo<\/strong>\u00a0en este despliegue, realizando misiones de reconocimiento fotogr\u00e1fico (con\u00a0vistas a ver puertos y muelles de posible utilizaci\u00f3n), descampados para zonas de aterrizajes (LZ) para luego proceder a entregar agua y v\u00edveres a lugares completamente aislados. A bordo el BO-105<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><strong>A 063<\/strong>, tres pilotos m\u00e1s personal t\u00e9cnico de apoyo. Ese mismo d\u00eda, de manera incansable, dos pilotos continuaban su calificaci\u00f3n y entrenamiento con varios aterrizajes y despegues en cuanto<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0\u00a0<\/span>el Artigas navegaba en aguas del R\u00edo de la Plata rumbo al Atl\u00e1ntico. En la cabina posterior hay amplio espacio para la instalaci\u00f3n de\u00a0<strong>dos camillas lado a lado<\/strong>, previa remoci\u00f3n de los tres asientos traseros. En Alemania, en esta ubicaci\u00f3n posterior se encontraban racks electromec\u00e1nicos de los misiles antitanque HOT. El BO-105 carece de guincho de rescate, limitando operaciones SAR mar\u00edtimas en una aeronave no tan ideal para dicha tarea, por su peque\u00f1a cabina y capacidad de carga \u00fatil. Para la compra del<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0\u00a0<\/span>guincho, el precio de<b>\u20ac\u00a0<\/b>150.000 exigido por Eurocopter, se considera desatinado en el presente clima financiero. El destino: la\u00a0<strong>Base Cient\u00edfica Ant\u00e1rtica \u201cArtigas\u201d (BCAA)<\/strong>\u00a0instalada desde 1984 en la\u00a0<strong>Isla Rey Jorge (Shetlands del Sur)<\/strong>\u00a0a 100 km al norte de la Pen\u00ednsula Ant\u00e1rtica y 1000 km al sur de Cabo de Hornos . El prop\u00f3sito de la BCAA es de brindar apoyo a los proyectos cient\u00edficos e investigaciones del\u00a0<strong>IAU (Instituto Ant\u00e1rtico Uruguayo)<\/strong>\u00a0y mantener la presencia nacional en el continente blanco. Fuertes tormentas y vientos catab\u00e1ticos de gran intensidad son comunes, as\u00ed como el riesgo de congelamiento e impacto con aves atra\u00eddas por la basura que se retira de la base ya que nada puede permanecer en el continente blanco.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0\u00a0<\/span>El\u00a0<strong>guincho homologado para 600 kg<\/strong>,<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0\u00a0<\/span>la ANU lo limita<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0\u00a0<\/span>a 250 kg por la restringida capacidad de pesos manejada por la aeronave. Durante su incorporaci\u00f3n , debido a la mayor disponibilidad de estas seis aeronaves, para tareas fotogr\u00e1ficas y de enlace, los BO-105 se tornaron una especie de\u00a0<strong>\u201cbuque insignia\u201d<\/strong>\u00a0de la Aviaci\u00f3n Naval Uruguaya en operaciones embarcadas.
